HGV Indirect BuyerLocation: Dorking, Surrey Salary: Up to £45,000 Job Type: Full-time, PermanentA well-established HGV focused engineering business is looking to recruit a HGV Indirect Buyer to join its purchasing team in Dorking.This is a great opportunity for a purchasing professional with experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment who enjoys supplier management, cost reduction, purchase order control, and working closely with internal stakeholders.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing indirect procurement, developing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and helping maintain an efficient and cost-effective supply base across multiple sites.Key Responsibilities for a HGV Indirect BuyerManage the purchasing of indirect materials, consumables, maintenance parts, and servicesDevelop, review, and negotiate supplier agreements, pricing, and commercial termsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal departmentsProcess and expedite purchase ordersCheck and manage purchasing requisitions on a daily basisSupport supplier consolidation and supplier performance improvement activityHelp drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and service levelsMaintain accurate purchasing data and records within SAPManage rescheduling activity and expedite overdue orders where requiredResolve supplier issues including invoice queries, returns, credits, and non-conformancesArrange samples and first-off approvals where neededSupport continuous improvement across the purchasing functionCandidate Requirements for a HGV Indirect BuyerTo be considered for this role, you should have:Previous experience in a Buyer, Purchasing Assistant, Procurement Coordinator, Procurement Specialist, or Indirect Buyer rolePurchasing experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environmentStrong administration and organisational skillsExperience negotiating with suppliers and managing supplier relationshipsGood understanding of procurement processes, purchasing procedures, and cost controlStrong IT skills, including SAP, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft ExcelAbility to prioritise workloads, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlinesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalA full UK driving licence would be advantageousKnowledge of MRP or Kanban would be beneficialDesirable Keywords / ExperienceCandidates with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply: Indirect Procurement, Purchasing, Buyer, Procurement, SAP, MRP, Kanban, Supplier Management, Cost Reduction, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchase Orders, Procurement Coordinator, Purchasing Administrator, Supplier Negotiation, Supply ChainWhat’s on Offer for this HGV Indirect BuyerPermanent, full-time position37.5 hour working weekOpportunity to join a well-established businessVaried purchasing role with responsibility across suppliers, systems, and internal stakeholdersSupportive team environment within a busy operational purchasing functionApply Now for this HGV indirect Buyer roleIf you are an experienced Buyer or Procurement professional looking for your next opportunity in Dorking, apply today with your CV for immediate consideration or call Ben on (phone number removed).BK
