We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead the Private Client Division in Edinburgh. This role is designed for a professional who understands the complexities of the UK wealth landscape—from historic estates and prestige motor portfolios to high-value London and regional property—and possesses the leadership gravitas to drive a high-performing team forward.
Strategic UK Market Leadership Business Architecture: Develop and execute the division’s annual UK business plan, presenting your roadmap at the national conference. Portfolio Stewardship: Oversee complex renewal strategies and ensure the delivery of bespoke advice that meets the highest UK technical standards. Commercial Growth: Drive profitability and income growth, positioning the firm as the premier choice for UK private wealth insurance.
Team Development & Mentorship High-Performance Leadership: Provide motivational management to a team of specialists, fostering a culture of accountability and client happiness. Professional Standards: Direct recruitment and mentor colleagues through CII and ILM qualification pathways, ensuring a gold standard of internal talent. Performance Excellence: Set SMART objectives and conduct regular reviews to ensure the division consistently outperforms market benchmarks.
Governance & Advocacy Regulatory Rigour: Maintain total adherence to FCA principles, GDPR, and the CII Code of Ethics, acting as the first line of defense for client interests. Operational Innovation: Identify strategic opportunities, lead divisional projects, and implement change that keeps the firm at the cutting edge of the UK market. Community Impact: Act as a role model by coordinating volunteering days and supporting regional community initiatives.
The Profile Market Pedigree: At least 7 years’ experience in the UK insurance market, specifically providing specialist advice to HNW/UHNW individuals. Qualified Leader: Dip CII certified (with clear progression towards ACII/Chartered status) and ILM Level 3+ certified. Technical Excellence: Deep knowledge of UK general insurance classes and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes. Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to build a strong internal network across the UK group.
