Job DescriptionLead Front End DeveloperPermanent UK‑Based -  West Midlands (Hybrid working)SC Clearance Eligible Are you a senior Front End Developer who enjoys staying hands-on while leading technical delivery? Do you want to shape high-quality digital solutions, mentor others, and work on meaningful projects for a range of customers? TXP is looking for a Lead Front End Developer to join us in a newly created internal role. This is an opportunity to take ownership of front-end delivery, influence technical direction, and play a key role in how we build modern, scalable applications using React and related technologies. What you’ll be doingAs a Lead Front End Developer at TXP, you’ll combine technical leadership with hands-on development, working across internal initiatives and customer-facing projects. You’ll:Lead the technical delivery of front-end components within agile, sprint-based programmesAct as a hands-on contributor across design, development, testing, defect resolution and deploymentProvide guidance, mentoring and technical direction to other developersWork closely with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Scrum Masters and customers to deliver agreed outcomesHelp shape and uphold TXP’s development standards, best practice and quality benchmarksEnsure work is delivered to agreed quality, functionality and timescales, escalating risks where appropriateBuild strong, trusted relationships with both TXP colleagues and customer stakeholdersSupport the development of team capability through mentoring and knowledge sharing What you’ll bringWe’re looking for someone who is technically strong, quality-focused and comfortable balancing leadership with delivery. Essential experience:Extensive hands-on experience with React, including Remix and React RouterStrong knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScriptSolid experience consuming and designing REST APIsExperience with server-side rendering (SSR) and progressive enhancementSignificant experience using MUI (Material UI)Strong experience with end-to-end testing, particularly PlaywrightExperience working in Scrum-based Agile teams, including sprint planning and ceremoniesA strong understanding of software design, development and deployment principlesProven focus on quality, with experience in reviewing and assuring front-end solutionsExcellent time management and prioritisation skills Desirable experience:Exposure to AI / LLM toolingUnderstanding of technical or solution architectureExperience with Azure and/or AWSCI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices About youYou enjoy solving complex problems and care deeply about code qualityYou’re comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiencesYou’re proactive, self-motivated and confident working to challenging deadlinesYou enjoy mentoring others and contributing to team successYou bring strong emotional intelligence and communicate clearly and professionallyYou thrive in collaborative environments but can work independently when needed Why TXP?At TXP, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, people-centred technology solutions.
