Porter Driver

Join Badby Park as a Porter where you will be part of creating an efficient and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Porter, you will be responsible for organising clinical waste areas for disposal, removal of waste from the buildings, delivering and retrieving linen for the units, receiving and delivering Oxygen canisters, including changing oxygen canisters, driving service users to external appointments.

You will be liaising with the waste management team, linen management and all delivery teams for clinical consumables.

As a Porter Driver you will be:

- Receiving, organising, and delivering to the correct units bi-weekly enteral feed delivery for service users - Receiving pharmacy deliveries and ensuring delivery of items to correct unit - Collecting and delivering samples to local trust - General support to the clinical teams and operational teams to ensure smooth running of the operational side of the business. - Safely transport residents to and from appointments, activities, and outings, ensuring comfort, dignity, and emotional reassurance throughout the journey. - Assist residents in and out of vehicles using appropriate moving and handling techniques. - Carry out pre-journey vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness, and report any defects or concerns promptly. - Ensure all journeys are logged accurately and any incidents are reported in line with policy. To be successful in this role, you will:

- Preferably have previous experience of portering or maintenance within a similar environment - Enjoy being busy and get satisfaction from a job well done - Prioritise duties and responsibilities effectively - Be a good communicator - Have good attention to detail and high standards of tidiness - Have the ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
