This position is expected to start from 2026-09-01 to 2026-12-31. Your Role The unit Physical Metallurgy, which is an integral part of Strategic Research Labs consists of several characterization and analytical techniques. These include surface analysis techniques known as glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy (GD-OES), Physical property measurements, X-ray diffraction (XRD), light and electron microscopes (LOM+SEMs+TEM+EPMA), sample preparation laboratories and dilatometers. We have a group of highly competent and skillful engineers and technicians. The current position mainly involves collaborating with group members working with GD-OES, Interferometer, Physical & Magnetic properties and Heat Treatment. The responsibilities of the current position are as follows: - Perform measurements according to the expectations of our clients and be able to communicate the results. - Collaborate effectively with other laboratory engineers in planning and executing the measurements. - Take responsibility for the machines & instruments by collaborating with the suppliers in the case of maintenance and breakdowns. - Support other lab members in future investments in the areas you work with. About You We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a Masters’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Physics. While prior experience in our competence area is a plus, what matters to us is your eagerness to learn, develop and grow. If you have spent time in a laboratory environment, that´s an advantage. Knowledge of metallic materials, manufacturing processes, microstructures, that’s fantastic, but don´t worry if you´re not an expert just yet – we´re here to help develop those skills. Experience working with GD-OES, Interferometer, and instruments for measuring Physical properties can also be a merit. You should be able to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. As we work in a global environment, communication skills in English will be good/advantageous. Your personal qualities are essential for this role.
