Join an exciting role where you will work with environmental compliance, substance regulations, and material data management. About the role As an Environmental Compliance Engineer, you will support ensuring products meet global environmental and chemical compliance requirements. A key part of the role is to reduce a backlog of legacy components with missing or incomplete supplier compliance data. You will investigate components, review material declarations, and assess chemical compliance data related to RoHS, REACH, and PFAS, including interpretation of CAS numbers. Working closely with the Environmental Compliance team, R&D, Sourcing, suppliers, and external partners, you will help maintain accurate compliance data in PLM systems and support improvements in data quality and hazardous substance phase-out activities. The assignment is carried out at the client site while you are employed by Academic Work. Work tasks Review/validate supplier material declarations to support compliance with environmental and chemical regulations, incl. RoHS, REACH, and PFAS-related requirements Investigate and resolve missing or incomplete compliance data for legacy components by collaborating with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and external compliance partners Support the collection, verification, and maintenance of material and substance information to improve data quality within PLM systems Work closely with Environmental Compliance-team, R&D, Sourcing, and international suppliers to clarify technical information and ensure accurate compliance documentation Analyze chemical substance data, including CAS numbers and material compositions, and assess compliance against applicable regulatory and internal requirements Contribute to maintaining efficient compliance processes and support ongoing efforts to phase out hazardous substances We are looking for Fluent in English, written and spoken University degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Ecosystem Engineering, or a related field Basic knowledge of environmental and chemical regulations such as RoHS, REACH, PFAS restrictions, and other relevant substance compliance requirements Understanding of chemical information, including the ability to interpret material compositions and CAS numbers Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel and strong general system skills A structured and detail-oriented way of working, with the ability to perform investigative work and follow up on missing or incomplete compliance information A proactive mindset and the ability to drive activities forward by coordinating and following up with R&D, suppliers, and other stakeholders It is meritorious if you have Proficiency in Swedish, both written and spoken Experience from the manufacturing, electronics, or IT/Software industries Experience reviewing material declarations, supplier compliance documentation, and chemical substance data Experience working with hazardous substance assessment and phase-out activities in products Experience working with PLM systems and compliance databases such as Green Data Manager, Assent, or similar tools Experience contributing to improvements of compliance processes, data quality, and system workflows To succeed in the role, your personal skills are: Change oriented Goal oriented Orderly Responsible
