We’re looking for caring and reliable Support Workers to join a small, dedicated team supporting a young adult with complex needs in their own home. You’ll be providing 1:1 support to help them live safely, happily, and with as much independence as possible, both at home and out in the community. We have both day and waking night shifts available.
About the person you’ll be supporting: They are a friendly and sociable person who enjoys being around familiar people, sensory activities, going for walks, spending time outdoors, and exploring the local area. They thrive on routine and feel safest when supported by people who understand them well. Communication is non-verbal, using body language and sounds, so being observant and taking the time to get to know them is essential. They are happiest when life is predictable and when their support team work together to keep them safe, comfortable, and engaged.
Where you’ll be working: Sturminster Newton Day shifts - 3pm-10pm (Monday-Friday) Waking night shifts - 10pm - 9.30am Shift times can be adjusted based on applicant availability

What we need from you: A calm, patient, and observant approach A reassuring presence who can build trust over time Ability to follow clear routines and care plans in detail Experience supporting people with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential — full training provided Willingness to work in partnership with family and colleagues to ensure consistency For day shifts, a full clear driving license is desirable but not essential
What your role will include: Supporting with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, dressing, and toileting Preparing safe, nutritious meals in line with dietary needs Support out in the community Providing reassurance, structure, and positive engagement throughout the day or night Monitoring safety and wellbeing Recording daily notes accurately and reporting any concerns promptly
