Job Description

An experienced Materials and Welding Engineer is needed to cover a 9-month project in Aberdeen starting in JulyTHE PROJECT Working in a multi-disciplinary team you will be responsible for ensuring materials integrity, compliance, and fitness for purpose across a wide range of subsea equipment and systems.The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders including design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project execution teams, as well as external vendors and clients on a global basis.Your key responsibilities will includeReview and interpretation of client specifications, applicable international codes and standards, and field/environmental conditionsDevelopment of Material Selection Reports, Corrosion Protection Philosophies, and associated technical documentationContribution to and support of design reviews, including risk assessments and materials-related technical queriesEvaluation and qualification of suppliers and sub-vendors, including review of capabilities, procedures, and complianceReview and approval of manufacturing and fabrication documentation such as WPS/PQRs, ITPs, material certificates, and NDE proceduresTechnical support to manufacturing and fabrication activities, including shop and vendor interfaceAssessment and resolution of materials- and welding-related non-conformances, including root cause analysis and corrective action supportInput to lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical governance activitiesSupport to tendering activities, including technical scope definition and risk assessmentKEY SKILLSYou will be degree qualified in Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related discipline with significant experience in Subsea Materials Engineering, ideally within an EPC or OEM environment. You will need a strong technical knowledge of welding processes, qualifications, and NDE techniques, be able to manage competing technical priorities across multiple projects and have the ability to interface confidently with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
