CNC Miller Location - Oldham An established precision engineering manufacturer operating within highly regulated, safety-critical sectors is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to support ongoing production across a modern machining facility. This role is suited to a time-served machinist with strong CNC milling capability and experience working to tight tolerances on complex components. This is a long-term contract / permanent opportunity with consistent shift patterns, competitive rates, and excellent pension and shift allowance structure. Shift Pattern 37.5 Hours Per Week 3-shift rotation: 06:00 – 14:00 14:00 – 22:00 22:00 – 06:00 35% shift allowance applies to all shifts if doing 3 shift rota Pay & Benefits £17.16 – £19.75 per hour (DOE) + 35% Shift Allowance 25 days holiday + bank holidays Pension: 10% employer / 5% employee contribution Breaks: 10 minutes paid 30 minutes unpaid Key Responsibilities Setting and operating CNC milling machines producing high-precision components Working with Heidenhain, Fanuc and Siemens control systems Editing offsets and basic programmes at the machine Machining components to tight tolerances and exacting quality standards Interpreting detailed engineering drawings, route cards and technical specifications Carrying out in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and other precision measuring equipment Adhering to strict quality, safety and documentation procedures Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high housekeeping standards Candidate Requirements Time-served or apprenticeship-trained CNC Miller Strong background in precision engineering / medium-to-heavy machining Proven experience with Heidenhain, Fanuc and/or Siemens controls Confident machining complex, low-volume or bespoke components Able to work independently across a rotating shift pattern Experience working in regulated or safety-critical industries (e.g. defence, nuclear, aerospace, power generation) highly advantageous
